Short Range Heavy Bullet

A Short Range Heavy Bullet (SRHB) rifle is one that has the following charactersistcs:

  • maximum muzzle energy of 14,000J (10325ftbs)
  • maximum velocity of 800 m/s (2,625fps)
  • minimum bullet weight of 400 grains

We also welcome medium-bore cartridges such as the .416, .450, and .470, but there is a minimum calibre requirement of .375. Metric equivalents are, of course, also welcome!

Range: Butt Zero. 

Morning shoot:

  • Static targets at 80 yards from two standing benches
  • Attendees will be required to conduct a short range HME zero from a distance of 75 yards prior to progressing to the afternoon shoot

Afternoon shoot:

  • Moving target at 50m
  • Snap-shooting competition at 50m (requires a rifle with a minimum calibre of .40″)
  • Static targets from the morning will also be available
  • Electronic ShotMarker targets will also be available allowing you to download your groups direct to your phone

There will also be an opportunity to chronograph ammunition

How to Book? 

These sessions are booked as individual bookings (not club bookings) via the online system, showing as 'SRHB Day'.

You must be an individual NRA member or member of an affiliated club and have a valid SCC 

One person per booking.

  • £80 for the full day for 2024 dates
