Deer Stalking Course

Delivered by Deer Central at Bisley Shooting Academy, in partnership with Bisley Sporting Rifle.

This one-day course offers an accessible introduction to deer stalking, exploring the essential knowledge, responsibilities, equipment and training routes involved, followed by a practical range session focused on field-rifle skills and shooting positions.

The classroom sessions will introduce:

• the role of deer stalking and deer management;
• UK deer species, law and ethics;
• deer rifles, ammunition, optics and equipment;
• shot placement and responsible decision-making; and
• routes into further training, experience and DSC1.

The afternoon will move to Bisley Sporting Rifle for a supervised practical session covering field shooting positions, the use of shooting sticks and a coached deer-target exercise.

The course is aimed at shooters with an existing level of safe rifle-handling competence. Participants may bring a suitable bolt-action centrefire rifle and ammunition, although equipment may be available by prior arrangement.
